Practice Philosophy
Care begins with the art of listening. We’ll look at the full picture—symptoms, history, lifestyle, and what’s changed over time—so treatment supports meaningful, sustainable improvement.
My role is to help unblock stagnation and restore the natural movement within your body. By encouraging vital movement to return, your body’s innate capacity to heal and regenerate will naturally restore the internal rhythms necessary for vitality. Whether you are seeking relief from acute pain like migraines, or long-term support for a chronic illness, healing is a natural ability you already possess. You possess the power to return to your healthiest self; I am simply here to assist that process.
What to Expect
The Initial Consultation: Your first visit begins with a thorough conversation about your health history, current concerns, lifestyle, and goals. This helps me understand not only your symptoms, but the broader patterns contributing to them. From there, I perform a gentle assessment that may include pulse and tongue diagnosis, posture and movement observation, and palpation of relevant areas.
Your Treatment: Treatment is tailored to your individual needs and may include acupuncture, manual therapy (bodywork), cupping, or other supportive therapies as appropriate. Most sessions are deeply relaxing, and many patients notice changes in pain, sleep, digestion, or stress levels within the first few visits.
Ongoing Care: Follow-up visits build on your initial response to care and are adjusted as your body changes. Visit frequency and treatment duration vary depending on your condition, goals, and how your system responds, but care is always oriented toward meaningful, sustainable improvement rather than indefinite treatment.
Preparation tip: Eating a light meal beforehand, staying hydrated, and wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing are usually sufficient preparation.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Diplomate of Acupuncture?
A Diplomate of Acupuncture is a certification awarded by the National Certification Board for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (NCBAHM). It indicates that a practitioner has met stringent national standards for education, safety, and clinical competence. Earning this title requires completing a comprehensive, multi-year master's level program and passing rigorous board examinations in both acupuncture theory and Western biomedical sciences.
Why do you practice concierge, in-home acupuncture?
True healing requires a parasympathetic state—meaning your nervous system needs to be fully relaxed. Traveling to a clinic, sitting in traffic, and waiting in a lobby can induce stress before the treatment even begins. By coming directly to your home, I ensure that you can receive high-quality, unhurried care in a comfortable environment, and seamlessly transition into rest immediately after the needles are removed.
