Concierge Acupuncture in Greenville & The Upstate
Personalized in-home care by Ian Hanover, Licensed Acupuncturist
Many people live with ongoing pain, fatigue, and stress. Whether you’re seeking help for sciatica, low back pain, migraines, stress, or interested in facial rejuvenation through microneedling, meaningful change is possible with a personalized plan and consistent care.
I integrate the time-honored wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine—including traditional acupuncture and custom herbal medicine—with modern, evidence-informed approaches. As a concierge, mobile practice, I treat you in the comfort of your home—so we can focus on your health without travel time, traffic, or waiting rooms. I take the time to understand your full health picture and build a treatment plan designed to address root causes, reduce pain, and support long-term resilience.
The Comfort of a Housecall
Transform your living space into a private clinic. From bringing a comfortable treatment table to supplying sterile, single-use needles and specialized tools, I handle every detail. You simply relax and focus on healing.
What to Expect During a Housecall
Before Your Visit
Before scheduling, we’ll have a brief phone conversation to discuss your concerns, answer questions, and determine whether acupuncture is a good fit for your situation.
Your First Visit
The first visit typically lasts about 90 minutes, allowing time to review your health history, discuss symptoms, and perform treatment.
Follow-Up Visits
Follow-up visits usually last about one hour.
During Treatment
Most patients experience sensations ranging from barely noticing the needles to a brief pinching or strong sensation depending on what is happening in the body.
Treatment may also include:
- gua sha
- cupping
- Tui Na bodywork
- visceral manipulation
- cranio-sacral therapy
depending on the condition.
Preparing for Your Appointment
- Wear loose-fitting clothing
- Ensure easy access to knees and elbows (and sometimes back)
- Eat about an hour beforehand
- Provide enough space to set up a massage table
I bring the treatment table and all necessary supplies.
Treatment Results
Patients often notice changes after the first visit, although the frequency of care is always individualized depending on the condition.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider and do not bill insurance directly. My focus is entirely on providing highly personalized, concierge care without the treatment restrictions or time limits often imposed by insurance companies.
How do I prepare for a housecall?
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing so I can easily access common acupuncture points on your arms and lower legs. Depending on the condition, I may also need access to your abdomen or back. Ensure you have eaten a light meal within a few hours of our session. I will need a quiet, comfortable space of about 6x8 feet in your home to set up the treatment table; usually, a living room is fine.
What areas do you serve?
My mobile concierge practice covers Greenville, SC, and the surrounding Upstate region. Typically, I travel to homes and offices within a 60-minute radius of downtown Greenville. If you are outside this radius, please contact me directly to discuss availability.
Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture needles are hair-thin and flexible—entirely different from the hypodermic needles used for injections or blood draws. Most patients feel little to no pain. There may be a momentary pinching sensation, usually found on active points especially in those that are suffering pain. Once placed, you might experience a dull ache, a feeling of heaviness, or a slight tingling sensation, which are all positive indicators that the body is responding to the treatment.
